Another shark

Ok, every day I’m less and less excited about the cook’s food.  Most of the time it’s in the ‘good to really good’ range.  Some days are just misses.  The other day she made stuffed cabbage rolls, the kind filled with ground meat and rice, rolled in cabbage leaves.  I can’t think of a more visually unappealing food.  Ugh.  And she makes these apple pancakes that are really good in theory, full of apples and cinnamon…but they are dense and never get cooked all the way through, so the batter in the middle is uncooked, and the grease is never hot enough so they are soggy with oil.  If done right, they would be really, really good though.

Today we caught a 12-ft thresher shark (tip to tail).  It was cool.  We also sampled five stations, which meant a looooong day.  I haven’t had much time to work on school stuff, so that’s a big bummer.
