Sunday morning the low tide was at a very reasonable 8:30 am, and it was a 'minus tide'. A minus tide just means the low tide will be lower than the mean low tide, in this case, it was 4.5 feet lower. That means it's a good day to go tide-pooling and check out all the critters that are exposed at such a low tide.
We saw:
Star fish and more sea urchins |
Yet more star fish |
Even though it was cloudy and foggy, it felt pretty warm. Or maybe that was just me. It was humid so I felt hot and sticky. But, it was a gorgeous morning to be climbing around on the (slippery) rocks!
And lots of exposed rocks and barnacles and blue mussels. |
